Deadline for adapting buildings for people
with disabilities expires at the end of 2025

Ensuring the accessibility of tourism infrastructure is one of the key foundations for the development of inclusive tourism destinations and, according to legal provisions, an obligation for all tourism providers.

As we have noticed that most tourism stakeholders are not aware of what the law requires of them, we have prepared a training course for VISITs and their business partners. The training provides a comprehensive insight into the correct application of the legislation in the tourism sector and relates to the provision of services and facilities for people with disabilities. Our programme is designed to enable both management and staff to understand the legislation. The extended training also provides employees with practical tools to deal effectively with guests with disabilities and the use of assistive devices.

Education objectives

Presentation of the ZIMI law in practical examples relating to various work activities: Detailed explanation of the law and its significance in the context of your activity.

Identifying examples of discrimination covered by the law: Identification of situations that could be in breach of the ZIMI law when it comes to working with people with disabilities.

We will also touch onbasic accessibility criteria.

Practical guidance and examples: concrete examples and guidance on how to avoid discriminatory practices and how to make the right adjustments for people with disabilities – we will learn how to accommodate a person with a disability and what adjustments are required for a particular activity.
