Accessible services for people
with functional disabilitiesAccess to facilities and services is often difficult or impossible for people with disabilities. For people with physical disabilities, the problems are most often related to height barriers, people with visual impairments find it more difficult to find their way around and access information, and people with hearing impairments have problems with communication. Some barriers can be overcome with relatively simple measures, while others require more complex construction work or solutions linked to different ways of organisation. Most of the solutions can also be provided through the implementation of works.
Accessibility rating of the facility
An accessibility assessment includes a brief overview of the facility, an inventory of the most important barriers and the identification of measures to be taken. It serves as background information on the measures needed to improve accessibility.
The accessibility review of the facility includes:
Facility Accessibility Overviewa”>Accessibility overview of the facility
This is a document that describes the accessibility status of a facility and proposes solutions to improve it. It includes a detailed overview of the facility, an inventory of barriers and the identification of the necessary measures to ensure accessibility. Where the measures are feasible with simpler solutions, a cost estimate is provided; if the solutions need to be developed in the context of plans by specialists from other disciplines (e.g. architecture, civil engineering), the cost of the project documentation is estimated.
The basis for the inspection of the building and the inventory of deficiencies is SIST ISO 21542 Building construction – accessibility and usability of the built environment.
SubscribeAccessibility adaptation plans
Some accessibility solutions require more complex measures and are therefore subject to a roadmap. In larger and more complex buildings or areas, it is necessary to draw up a plan to provide appropriate solutions:
- a Tactile Floor Guidance System (TTVS) plan,
- a guidance system plan,
- other plans for technical accessibility solutions.
Implementation of measures to improve accessibility
We offer the implementation of some accessibility measures, such as:
- installation of floor tactile signs and contrast strips,
- installation of various ramps,
- installation of stair lifts and access platforms,
- the production of directional and marking signs and signs in Braille, etc.
